Set of 4 Peacock Napkin Rings: $40.00
e
The Peacock feather is showing up everywhere, why not at the dinner table! I'm inspired by these fabulous napkin rings! I'm in love with Z Gallerie !
e
A bit of Peacock feather history:
e
The male peacock sports about 150 of the long "eyed" peacock tail feathers with which most of us are so familiar. These feathers are shed annually during the molt and gathered as a valuable "crop" in many countries through its range.
f
Peacock feathers are a symbol of good luck and well-being throughout Asia and most of the world.

Wednesday Wisdom...A Romantic Tip!

d
It's spring and love is in the air! Flowers are blooming and buds are sprouting, the grass is getting greener!
d
Want your relationship to look like spring? Don't forget to water and nurture the love you share. Love blossoms and grows when you make time for each other and give in to the needs of your mate. Like a bank you make deposits and withdrawals, you can't get out what you don't put in. Take time out and smell the roses together!

Sharing Wednesday's Spotlight with Southern Weddings

Blue is one of my favorite colors!
kk

Sharing the love with the ladies over at Southern Weddings (swsmag) and sharing this weeks Wednesday Wisdom spotlight with Wanwisa Posner over at SW. This weeks feature, "The Birds and The Bees". Head on over to SW for all of the pretty details!

Wednesday Wisdom...A Romantic Tip!

d
The essence of romance is to do something that's going to endear someone to you. A lot of men in particular are asking, "why isn't there any romance between me and my wife"? The answer is part of a list of remedies that I refer to as the Honey Be's. Here's the top three on the list:
  1. Be Creative
  2. Be Compassionate
  3. Be Considerate

For example:

Purchase a few roses...a pink rose which represents compassion and consideration...a yellow rose that represents sun and sustenance...a red rose that represents passion and fire.

  1. Place the pink rose with a note and a jar of body butter by her car keys promising her a massage later that night.
  2. Place the yellow rose in the closet with a note telling her that she always looks fabulous!
  3. Place the red rose in the bedroom with a piece of sexy lingerie..no note necessary!

These romantic tips can work both ways in any relationship. Whether it's the man or the women sharing in keeping the romance alive!

A Green Bridal Registry!

g
Green Gifts.... Consider these sites to build a top-notch earth-friendly bridal registry:

  • Branchhome.com A growing number of retailers are offering well-designed green goods, but the best of all may be Branch, which sells both the practical, like sustainably made towels by Bonjour, to the decorative, such as a sleek hanging planter from Perch.
  • h
  • Gaiam.com A favorite destination for those who are committed to the eco lifestyle in ways big and small. Gaiam offers a range of necessities, from manual lawn mowers to stainless steel water bottles.
  • h
  • Alternativegiftregistry.org Couples can use this new umbrella site to register for both tried-and-true home accessories (such as flatware from Target) and nontraditional items, like donations to favorite charities, carbon offsets and even trees from local nurseries.

We have so many fine hotels right here in Atlanta that certainly lend to a great weekend get-away. We can now add the fabulous St Regis Atlanta to our list! Slated to open on April 7th, 2009. w
DIY Romantic Wrapping Paper....
k
I found this clever idea over at Martha's! How to create your own wrapping paper:
d
To create your own artful wrapping paper, just push a button -- the secret to these nature-themed designs is a standard black-and-white photocopier. Start by placing a flower, thin slice of fruit, or another shapely light-colored object (darker tones don't reproduce well) between sheets of clear acetate. Center the sandwiched item on the copier glass, cover with plain white paper, and copy onto white or colored paper (enlarging or reducing as desired). Wrap gifts with the paper, and finish them with sheer satin ribbon.
g
Definitely going to try this one!

Cards and Love Letters!

d
q
I heart this cute romantic trinket box. I always find cards and love letters in a drawer or in one of my hat storage boxes that warms my heart, makes me smile and brings back fond memories! This box is the perfect place to store all of them in one place. Whenever I need a little inspiration, I can have a look inside! I found this one at a shabby chic online store called Enchanted Treasures. I also think this would be a fun DIY project that you can personalize.

Wild about Wildfire!

l
Thanks to Kempten and Ali over at Green Olive Media for the personal invite!
a
a
I had a great time yesterday at the luncheon provided by Green Olive Media. The luncheon was held at the fabulous Wildfire Restaurant at Perimeter Mall. The focus was on the wedding planning industry and brought together, wedding planners and social catering managers from the Westin hotel, the 'W' hotel, the Ravinia Club & Spa and the Georgia Aquarium. The table linen was provided by Tabletoppers Inc. (Thanks Katie!)
s
s
I ran into Eliana from BYSE (By Your Side Events) and Nicole from Your Champagne Wishes Events, LLC. I also met a number of wedding planners for the first time.
e
We were able to tour the restaurant which offers private and semi-private spaces for any social or corporate event. "The Club Room" is a semi-private area that provides the ambiance of the main dining area yet intimacy for any gathering, like a rehearsal dinner, birthday or anniversary party. "The Wine Room" provides the intimacy and ambiance that my couples will be looking for while on a romantic date no matter what the occasion! The photo doesn't really give you the feel of the ambience like it does when your in the room!
s
The Wine Room
w
The tasty food:
  • Starters - Grilled Chicken and Portobello Mushroom Skewers
  • Salad - Wildfire Chopped Salad
  • Main Course - Cedar Planked Salmon and Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast with Redskin Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Asparagus
  • Dessert - Triple Layer Chocolate Cake

So much food I had to skip dinner!

Thanks again ladies, for inviting me!

waI look forward to futura

Vera Wang Bride: The Romanticist Barbie Doll

c
Barbie turned 50 2 days ago and no matter what you think about the now middle-aged Icon, we grew up with her in our face and I must admit my daughter has a serious collection of the never aging beauty!

s
Kudos to Vera Wang for the detail and craftsmanship that her and the designer put into this Bridal version of Barbie! A great gift for a bride that collects the ever so popular, despite criticism, here to stay diva!

Wednesday Wisdom...A Romantic Tip!

hg x
The magic attraction of listening! One of the most enticing things we can do; Listen with all of our heart. All too often we’re preoccupied with other thoughts, watching TV, what’s going on in the room around us, or wondering what we’re going to say next. It’s a turn-off when we notice someone isn’t listening.
x
When someone gives you their undivided attention, it makes you feel special. It feels good when someone shows genuine interest in you and makes you feel like you matter. That person becomes even more attractive which leads to better romantic life!

A Romantic Love Story!

s
I recently reached out to our lovely readers and ask them to share their favorite Romantic Love Story! Well here's one that I'm sure you'll enjoy, sent in by Dr. Taffy Wagner. Dr. Wagner is the owner of Marriage Money Matters, LLC and JTW Publishing, LLC. She is an author of the Amazon.com Bestsellers “Debt Dilemma”, and “Homebuyer’s Helper (How to Have and Hold on to your House). She is also the author of “Discharged Into Debt” (for military troops).

I could go on and on about her accomplishments! To many to mention here so in the mean time, enjoy her Love Story. Afterwards you can find out more about her with one click here.
s

The Love Story Begins....

We have had many romantic times in our marriage because we are both givers. One of my fondest memories is after we were married, I had gotten some brochures from The Poconos. It was my idea that husband and I would go once things slowed down with work. About a year after I had gotten the brochures, I had a huge case that I had been working on at this law firm I worked for. I'm talking, there was a three day period when I worked almost every bit of that time 72 hours straight. I was so mentally drained after each day that hubby came and picked me up from work. I left my car in the parking garage. It was coming close to the case being done. At the end of the biggest week - I worked four days straight which included the weekend. Once the case was over, my bosses gave me a bonus for all the time I put into the case. Me being me, I paid off a bill or two and my immediate next thing was to book The Poconos vacation. I did it, I knew how much vacation time hubby had and he would still have time left. This vacation was all inclusive so that all we had to do was pack our bags and go.

This was a treat I will never forget. I had ordered a fruit and cheese tray in the room ahead of time, as well as a dessert tray. Our room had the Champagne Whirlpool Bath for 2, heart-shaped swimming pool in our room and all meals were included. This 4 day 3 night vacation was the best. We did tons of activities on the property - archery, paddle boating, attended the evening concerts and toured the town. We had the time of our life! I'm having visions of going back even as I write this because they have a Family resort as well!

Thanks for sharing Dr. Taffy, I really enjoyed it! I'm sure others will too! Send us your favorite Romantic Love Story, (350 words or less) and you might just see it here!

Romantic Gift for 2??? "Karl of the Wild"

l
While perusing the fragrance counters at Neiman Marcus, I found this incredible fragrance in the men's cologne department; Karl Lagerfeld's latest odyssey, "Kapsule". It's not just for men though and it comes in different scents, my favorite is "Light!!" Boasting unisex-sanctioned ingredients like bitter orange, jasmine and musk!
d
Don't take my word for it though when it comes to cologne like anything else, to each his own. I just know there's nothing like a man that smells good, whether he just stepped out of the shower or he's dashed with a little cologne! All my ladies say amen!!.

"the NotWedding is back...Take 2!

w
I stumbled upon this event happening right here in Atlanta, so of course I had to check it out for myself. I loved the idea of creating a production of a real fake wedding to show-case local vendors and I also love the idea of giving away a free wedding! I understand that the number of entries has increased over last years event. It's no wonder, in this economy winning a free wedding is quite the prize!
s
d
s
Callie Murray, the mastermind behind "the NotWedding" and I spoke last week, we had a great conversation! I learned that she's a military wife whose husband was recently deployed, something that's near and dear to my heart. We really hit it off and are planning a few fun projects!
d
It's official and we're so excited!....CL is teaming up with "the NotWedding"!....stay tuned to find out how!
fdk
For now....mark your calender for Sunday, April 5 to attend their upcoming event. It's "NOT" your typical bridal show. If your in Atlanta, you won't want to miss it! Click here for details.

Romantic Gift Wrapping Ideas.....

d
I love creating my own beauty, that's what gift wrapping is about to me! It's taking a little of this and a little of that and making the 'gift' more intriguing because of the gift wrapping.
gf
We recently received our first request to wrap a few gifts for a corporate executive that says he has two left hands when it comes to gift wrapping. He bought a couple of gifts for his wife while traveling abroad. He was telling a friend about the gifts, it just so happens that I know the guy and he told him about me. My first thought, this is a small world!
s
When I spoke with him I ask, "what's the occasion?", my kind of man...he bought the gifts for her 'just because', my absolute favorite reason to give or receive a gift!
fgds
I decided to order hand made products, like the paper featured here. Both 100% recycled cotton fiber made in India. The wired edge taffeta picot ribbon made in France is featured as couture ribbon. The lavender posy paper has an embossed surface and the wrinkle resistant Midori ribbon is a shimmering translucent organdy ribbon that's 100% nylon. Next up....the finishing touches....jewels and broaches to adorn! Another "Creation of Love"!
g

Not sure which one of these I'll use and I've also ordered other items like coordinating paper to mix and match. I'm really excited about it because we launched this service towards the end of the year really just for fun. Who knows maybe it will catch on like wildfire! We'll need elves for the gift wrapping, while the cupids gear up for wedding season, romanticizing honeymoon suites and decorating for all of the other lifecycle reasons to celebrate LOVE!

Friday's...Fav, Fab, Find!..A Sweet Suite Romantically Decorated!

j
This totally reminds me of some of my work. Imagine yourself stepping off of an airplane and you have no idea where your going, but you know that your husband has planned a surprise getaway for the two of you. Time away from it all and you've been working hard and haven't had any down time together.
h
You finally arrive at this......an oasis....created just for your enjoyment....well....I create romantic getaways just like this right here in Atlanta, or at the destination of your choice.
j
Glad to see this resort embrace the concept!
